Everyone needs compassion
Love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of nations
Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender
Shine your light in
Let the whole world see
We're singing, for the glory
Of the risen King
Jesus, Shine your light in
Let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory
Of the risen king

This has really been a fruitful week for me though I thought it was going to be a pretty rough week with my Math and Lit test, as well as the Chinese performance task presentation. But by God's grace and stregnth, I practically sailed through my Lit test with a very prepared mind (I studied everything from plot to characterisation to themes!), and my Math test was ok (there was this difficult kinematics question though, urgh!). At least I know I'm not going to fail it. Doing TAWG each night, I always remembered to commit everything little thing to God because I know He can work in ways we cannot see.
God has really blessed me today. During last week's vision rally, I pledged quite a large amount (to me) that God put in my heart, in faith because I've never given that much before. And the Lord is good, honouring us when we honour Him first. Today, I've just received news that I've gotten the S'pore Commissioner of Police-Lee Foundation study award grant! The amount of money is more than twice of what I pledged! Isn't God great? PTL!
Last week, KWYB came to a close for me and I've learnt so so much: more about God and the fundamentals of my Christian faith. I now feel so rared up to go and be a witness for God by going through water baptism. KWYB has really achieved its purpose of making sure that I know what I believe and so much more. God gave me a precious opportunity to share about the end times and the rapture with my friend Xiumin yesterday. She is a Christian from a Christian home but does not attend church regularly. She was quite fascinated by what would happen to us when Jesus comes back and thanks to a very informative lesson from KWYB, I was able to share with her everything from tribulation to the Judgement.
I'd just gotten back my English exposition test today and I'm sooooooooooooo thankful that I passed. From what my teacher said about them trying not to fail us, I sort of got the idea that I would do very badly because I was in quite a blank state when I did the test- not good for writing an argumentative essay. I thank God for my humble 23 out of 30 because I imagine I could have done much worse. But, my chemistry assignment turned out to be a disappointment, although I was one of the few who actually handed it in on time. I'd better take it more seriously next time and double check my answers with my classmates before handing it in. Oh well, so much for getting an A2 for chem.
If you're reading this, I hope that you will also join me in praying for the affected people in Russia (the school hostage incident) and Indonesia (Aussie embassy bombing). It is easy to forget sometimes that we are the minorities in the world who can enjoy such comfort and peaceful living in Singapore. Keep them in prayer, during your quiet time or whenever, because I believe that we need God's protection and providence for them, especially comfort for the affected families. Pray also for the Christians over there to stay strong, using this time of crisis to spread the gospel and good news, being the extended arm of God to touch others with His love and power. Prayer changes things, amen?
